About the Music
Scored for SAB, Future’s Door fits smaller ensembles and programs short on tenors and basses. The parts are accessible, with room for soloists to step out, and an optional flute/treble instrument line adds color when you have it.
Uses could include a graduation or senior sendoff piece, a spring concert closer, or a tradition selection — anywhere you want a reflective, personal moment to close on.
Behind the Music
In early 2026, I took a step of faith and created a new type of content I had never done before: Meta Ads. In some ways it felt like a shot in the dark, but I hoped they would reach a director who might be needing the music I had to offer. And as luck would have it… there was. Thanks to the ads, I met Matthew Andrade and the Aaron Cohn & Double Churches (ACDC) choir in Columbus, Georgia. Matthew wanted me to compose a “tear-jerker” piece that could be used as a send-off for their 8th graders during their final concert of the school year. As I composed the music, I kept picturing the students’ moment of seeing the empty choir room, before walking out the door for the last time. This imagery inspired the text and title of the music, with the door representing not just saying goodbye to that experience, but entering into a new chapter of life.
